Coaching career

As a manager, Gerets worked successively for FC Liège, Lierse SK, Club Brugge, PSV Eindhoven, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, and VfL Wolfsburg before joining Galatasaray SK at the end of the 2004–05 season.
